Elevator Amnesia

Ok so here's the thing.

I work on the 7th floor of my building so i ride and elevator several times a day. Lots of random people get in these elevators on and off various floors. Many times people get on and whether they are going one floor or all the way down or up it seems that as soon as they get in the elevator and push the button for their floor they immediately forget that they are in an elevator.

so what happens is that we will arrive at their floor AND NO ONE WILL MOVE OUT THE DOOR! Hello! We are at your destination. You just hit the button for your floor - don't you remember where you are going??

GGGRRR.... very frustrating. I really don't understand why people don't pay attention and get out of the elevator when we get to your floor...

it's called Elevator Amnesia.

Update

My baby - AKA Fatty

I love my kitty. One thing about cats is that they always love a good sunbeam.
Sometimes it makes me sad to think that i won't have her forever. She is a special kitty. She found me in Blacksburg in December 1998. My friend S and I were having a birthday party (our birthdays are 2 days apart) and since there were a lot of people in the house we had the doors and windows open. The windows in the basement are at ground level, and this kitten kept coming in the house - it was cold outside being december and all...
So i threw her out 2 or 3 times and by the end of the night i had no idea what happened to her. I fell asleep on the couch and when i woke up the next morning she was sleeping on me. I decided right then and there that i had to keep her. She was the prettiest kitten i had ever seen! Over the next few days i looked for signs to see if anyone was looking for her, but i never saw any. So, a little over 8 years later I still have her.
Sometimes she is a bad kitty - she has an issue with cardboard (likes to chew it)... anyways, as you can see from the photo she is sort-of fat, but i love my baby...

Half Marathon

So the Baltimore Marathon is in October. My friends have convinced me to run the half with them.... 13 miles is a pretty long distance. I think i ran 5 miles once a long time ago.

I've run 4 miles at a time twice in the last week. It was pretty painful afterwards - back, shoulders and neck don't seem to enjoy it. My trainer at the gym says i probably need to work on my form... I wanted to do some cardio today but i didn't get out of work until 6 and by the time i got home the last thing I wanted to do was hit the gym.

I think tomorrow i'll run two miles and then do the stationary bike for 30 minutes.

i'm not sure if i'll actually be able to make it 13 miles in October but i'm going to try. At least if anything i should lose some weight just by training regularly...

Hey Ho Let's Go!

The Next Few Weeks

are going to be killer. Lots of work to do and not a lot of time...
