I Hate Read Receipts.... and other email issues

I hate read receipts. What is the point. If someone doesn't get back to you or it is an important email - write them again - or heaven forbid you call them personally.
Also - what is the deal with "message recall." It's not like the message will disappear from my in-box. all you do when you recall a message is draw attention to the original message that you don't want people to pay attention to.

My turn at the helm...

Well... it has been a while since it was my job to hold down the fort until last votes. I guess it could be worse. It looks like i will get out of here by 8 and hopefully be on the 8:40 train. I was hoping the boss would tell me to just go home - but no dice. Honestly - if we worked until midnight today and tomorrow just so we don't have to work on Saturday I totally would. Working on the weekends is BS. There should be no need for it. Of course, now that we are going to vote on a CR that will take us to 12/21 then maybe there isn't a need to work on Saturday. I hope so.

Chili Cook-Off Results

Well.... we got 2nd place! (out of 10 contestants) That is pretty cool. A guy from FL got first and a guy from MO got 3rd. Not bad for my first time competiting in a food competition. We are going to have to enter again next year. The guy who won - his chili was a lot like mine but less watery. I knew mine was too watery but i initially didn't make enough so i had to improvise at the last minute and i added to much water to increase my volume. Lesson learned. I won't make the same mistake next year - assuming i get to make the chili again.

Here is a pic of my prize. Boss gave the real prize to his wife. I should have expected that.
